As Program Director, Tim’s role is to help local water districts, municipalities, and local agencies secure funding for water planning and projects. Tim and the team also build partnerships across the county to help address regional water issues including water supply reliability, water quality, watershed stewardship, and stormwater and flood management — all in the name of making Santa Cruz County a better place to work and live.

Tim joined the Foundation in 2008, shortly after the establishment of the RWMF, to oversee a $12.5 million grant for water resource projects. Prior to joining the Foundation, Tim worked as a project scientist for an environmental consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked on regional scale partnerships with public agencies, universities, and non-governmental organizations. His early career experience included environmental education in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Tim is passionate about increasing awareness about and uncovering solutions to Santa Cruz’s unique water challenges. He is energized by collaborations and believes an affordable supply of water, as well as healthy watersheds and streams, make Santa Cruz County a better place to live now and in the future.
