In 2016, a total of $7,020,839 in grants were made to 482 organizations in Santa Cruz County and beyond.

Another 6% percent, or $409,470, were annual payments from the earnings generated from funds established by nonprofits, invested and managed by the Community Foundation, and awarded in the form of grants.
"People continue to trust us as a reliable local partner for their charitable giving," said CEO Lance Linares.
"Those contributions from individuals, families and businesses, along with the continued growth of our funds allowed us to increase our giving last year by $2.4 million, over 2015," Linares said.
In addition to grants, local nonprofits were also able to tap into skill building workshops, planned giving and fundraising help and the use of free or low-cost meeting rooms.
