Community Foundation Board Picks CEO Search Firm

February 8, 2017 - Carlson Beck to lead national search for next CEO.

Carlson Beck is being retained by the Community Foundation's board of directors to lead a national search for a new CEO. The search was prompted by the announced retirement of Lance Linares, set for the end of 2017.

With offices in San Francisco, Seattle and New York City, Carlson Beck specializes in executive searches for philanthropy and nonprofits.

Some of its former clients include the Arizona Community Foundation, Orange County Community Foundation, The San Francisco Foundation, Northern California Grantmakers and the Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund.

"We looked far and wide for a qualified search firm, sending out over 20 requests for proposals," said Marilyn Calcianco, board vice president and chair of the search committee.

"We're extremely pleased with our choice and confident that the firm's expertise and work with other philanthropic organizations will find us the best leader to continue the good work of the Community Foundation," Calciano said.

During the next few weeks, Carlson Beck will work with the board's search committee to develop a job description for applicants to the CEO position.

The search firm will "go to market" sometime in March or April to begin soliciting and vetting prospective candidates, with interviews in late spring.

Carlson Beck and the search committee are planning for the new CEO to be hired by late summer or early fall.

Updates on the executive search, including the job posting and information about the interview process will be shared as they are available, with all inquiries to be directed to and handled by Carlson Beck.
