As Philanthropic Services Associate, Itzel is part of the behind-the-scenes team that turns generosity into impact through data management, gift acknowledgements, and processing.
She believes that the small, often unseen steps in the giving process are essential to building trust and confidence within the community. To her, every handwritten note and personal email is a new opportunity to connect with a community member.
After graduating from UCLA, Itzel began her career in corporate recruiting, where she gained valuable experience but soon realized she wanted to contribute to something bigger than herself. She soon transitioned into the nonprofit realm and discovered her enthusiasm for the work.
As a Central Valley native, Itzel feels especially lucky to call Santa Cruz home. She is proud to be part of a team dedicated to improving the community for generations to come. Itzel is also passionate about local food systems and sustainable agriculture. Outside of work, she enjoys all things book-related, watercolor painting, and exploring farm-related events in the area.
