Abbey Ohtake

Philanthropic Services Manager

As Philanthropic Services Manager, Abbey partners across the Foundation’s departments to ensure that philanthropic giving is stewarded with care and intention. She manages the systems and processes that sustain donor services, including donor records and fund administration, ensuring donors and nonprofit partners have a clear and consistent experience. In addition, Abbey serves as the Foundation’s Board Liaison, coordinating communication and supporting governance with the Board of Directors.

Raised in Soquel, Abbey has built her career around serving local institutions. With a background in customer service and financial services, she brings a relationship-centered and detail-oriented approach to her work. After graduating from Mills College with a degree in Sociology, she returned to Santa Cruz and spent several years at Bay Federal Credit Union before joining the Community Foundation.

The Foundation’s work resonates deeply with Abbey’s belief that everyone who calls Santa Cruz home should feel a true sense of belonging here. She sees this role not just as a job but as a way to strengthen her roots and contribute to a more connected, equitable community. 

Outside of work, you can find Abbey exploring the farmer's market or hiking the trails of Santa Cruz County.
